Director Eveler explained that this special meeting was called to discuss the impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic on election preparations. Due to the speed at which conditions have been changing  during the last few days, a face-to-face meeting was deemed necessary to better inform the Board.

Ms. Brooks made a motion that the Board will honor its commitment to open all Advance Voting  locations as currently planned, but if any location is deemed to be unsafe by Cobb County or  Georgia Department of Public Health, Director Eveler has the authority to close that location, and  if staffing shortages increase to the point that we can no longer provide secure and expedient  service at all locations, Ms. Eveler has the authority to consolidate staff into a smaller number of  locations. Ms. Eveler has authority to take immediate action, unless circumstances are such that  there is time to call a special Board meeting with the required 24 hours’ notice so that the Board  can determine the action to be taken. Mr. Aiken SECONDED. APPROVED 5-0
