Financial Report

Shannon Nettles: The Budget is about halfway used. Reminder to the Board that funds do not rollover to the next fiscal year.

Concerns were raised that if the budget is not used up then the budget for next year will be decreased.

Public Comments:

Tanya from St.Mary’s Church: Suggested the Board discuss a move involving only mail- in ballots for the June 9th election. Highlights the fact that five states already do this.

Mary Beckman from St.Mary’s Church: Asked if the Board is making the necessary preparation to count more mail-in ballots than usual.

New polling location:

Shannon Nettles: Proposal to make St.Mary’s Church a new polling location for precinct 10.

Motion passed 5-0.

Budget Proposal for 2021

Currently looking over new locations and equipment to draft a proposal. Once done, the Board will receive the proposal through email.

The Board is looking into an analysis for mail- in to in -person voting ratio so they can factor that into the budget.

Also looking into more office workers due to more mail-in ballots than usual.

Issues with Mail- in Ballots

People with P.O. boxes are getting things returned.

People are taking pictures that are blurry and hard to read. This is especially problematic if the address and number are unreadable like the name then contacting them for revisions is daunting.

Poll worker Training

Since the office is closed ,they are currently looking for ways to host online training for poll workers with limited in- person sessions for equipment training.

Clarification for voters

Currently working to clarify the difference to voters between the Presidential Preference Primaries and the General Primaries and that they should still vote on June 9th.

Public Comments

Tom Canning from St.Mary’s: I have two questions

  1. When we mail out a ballot will it go to the county office? Yes.

Motion to adjourn approved at 3:46 pm
