  • Jay Hanley, Vice Chair
  • Pam Hendrix, (R)
  • Ken Davis (D)

Meeting Notes:

  • Oconee is moving 5 precincts effective September 3 for voting day.
    • The moves end up merging two precincts into one at Grace Fellowship Church and two more into one at Bishop Baptist church and a 5th move to a new precinct and renamed “Middle Oconee”
  • Oconee is also moving its early voting location of the Board of Elections office at 10 Court Street to the Oconee County Civic Center.
  • Notices in the 8/20/20 legal organ are as follows for the moves/merges:

    • Athens Academy Spartan Center Precinct at 1281 Spartan Lane Athens GA 30606 is moving to Nations Church 8780 Macon Highway Athens GA 30606 and will be now called “Middle Oconee”
  • The minutes are vague as to why this is happening.
  • Unfortunately, Oconee did not reply to requests to live stream this summer. We contacted them again yesterday about concerns that individuals being “sheltered in place” by the executive order are being excluded from meetings that are not available in either live or digital format.
    • The meetings from Sept. 1 onward per citizen requests will now be live streamed on Facebook.
