Henry County Board of Elections Meeting 09/02/20

Meeting notes:

  • We are in talks with Stockbridge and Locust Grove to hold their city voting locations in the same place that we have our county voting locations whenever those elections are happening simultaneously.

For the 8-11 election we had 

  • 13,000 ballots cast
  • 4627 did absentee ballots
  • 4567 did early voting
  • 4504 did election day voting (15 provisional ballots)

Here are the early voting times and dates for the 11-3 election

Elections & Voter Registration Main Office: 40 Atlanta St., McDonough

  • October 12th – 16th          8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • October 17th (Saturday)      9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • October 19th – 23rd              7:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • October 24th (Saturday)      9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • October 25th (Sunday)        1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • October 26th – 30th              7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Merle Manders Conference Center:   111 Davis Rd., Stockbridge

  • October 12th – 16th          8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • October 17th (Saturday)      9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • October 19th – 23rd              7:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • October 24th (Saturday)      9:00 am – 4:00 pm

  • Mildred Smelz: Do you know how many voting machines we will have for the 11-3 election?
  • Hunter Hatfield: The most any one location would have would be around 20. The least any location would have would be around 10. We have about 600 machines.

Public zoom Chat 

  • Annette Edwards: I would like to see secured ballot boxes. How can one ballot box serve the entire county?
  • Deborah Sykes: Interesting… I would like to know how many drop boxes other counties have for ballot drop off. One box is not enough for H.C.
