Vote at Home

We have a couple of areas of address to go over:

  • Staffing Levels
  • How often Drop box ballots are collected

Safety Guidelines

  • Workers must use N95 mask
  • Poll workers are also required to use face shields
  • Do we have a policy for office staff on masks?
  • Yes all office workers are required to wear masks.

Space

  • Our current space is too small to process ballots quickly
  • 3 Options to remedy this:
  1. Relocate
  2. Use the county owned warehouse
  3. Make use of tents and trailers

We need to take security measures into account when deciding

Director notes Adjudication cannot take place off site

Vote at home would have only opening and scanning off site and adjudication would take place at original location.

Are the areas we secured ready for use?

Yes but an offsite location would require a little cleanup

Director would like to continue using current site to ensure accuracy

Vote at home believes it is possible to ensure both speed and accuracy at an off site location.

Is it possible to meet the legal requirements of logic and accuracy testing but also have the flexibility to use the extra time the state allotted us?

Maybe we need to be able to consolidate space. With that vote at home still recommends moving the opening and scanning process.

Do we alphabetically sort by precinct?

Yes

Is it possible to walk the board through the process before we make this decision?

We’ll get with our legal advisor to see if we can swear Lucy in so she can participate in the walkthrough.

Vote at home asks if it was possible to consider batching after signature verification

(Not Answered as another subject comes up.)

Equipment

Getting extra equipment got pushed back due to us focusing on software. We were able to obtain the extractors.

Will we have the space for the extractors?

Only one if they don’t relocate.

Mr. Burton’s recap

There will be equipment testing for our Friday press conference.

We have confirmed all of our drop box locations.

What can we expect for the website leading up to the election?

Currently we are working with I.T. and our partners to enhance it and we should have news after our meeting this weekend?

Director’s Report

30,000 Voter registration applications received

18 staff members working on processing

We have introduced a call center with 20 staff members to answer common questions

Friday elections certifications from september 29th.

Have we finalized election day precincts.

Yes. Although we have some emergency changes to make.

Will type list to send to board members.

we need that list for transparency

26 Drop Boxes

23 Locations

A number of applications have errors. How do we handle that?

We call or email the voter.

An additional Early voting location for Salem Panola Library for the last week of voting is discussed. No vote was made.

The Board of Commissioners are pleased with the grant the elections board received as it will help solve many issues.
