Meeting called to order by Chairman Ted Baker at 5PM.
Motion by Bob Lofgren to adopt the agenda for the meeting was seconded by Helen Smith and approved.
Supervisors Report:
- A report on the progress of the new space being reconfigured for the County Elections office was made. Making progress but move delayed till sometime between Christmas and second week of January.
- Elections Supervisor Meyers reported that Judge Gillis ordered a hand recount for the Greensboro City Council election where two candidates’ votes differed by one vote. The count was done on Monday, December 6 and the results matched the original count. It was noted that a state inspector was on site for the recount.
- Republican Member Bob Lofgren requested information on the additional suit that contested this election and it was noted that that suit had been withdrawn.
Public Comment: none
Democratic Member Helen Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 8th meeting which was seconded by Bob Lofgren and approved.
The Supervisor requested Board approval of 2022 Poll Management which allowed for an additional manager in several locations. Lofgren asked if potential redistricting might require changes to the plan and the Supervisor advised this plan would work under possible redistricting. Lofgren made a motion to accept, second by Smith and approved.
Both party representatives were asked if they had anything to report at the meeting. Both declined.
Both Smith and Chairman Ted Baker complimented the staff for their dedication and expertise while conducting the recount.
Finally, the next monthly meeting was scheduled for January 12th at 5PM.
Meeting was adjourned at 5:18Pm.
