Office operations

  1. Staff reported 29 felon letters were sent, letting the recipients know the restitution requirements for maintaining their status as voters, and none have been returned.
  2. M. Kidd reported he participated on a working group that will make recommendations on district lines for the county commissioners.
  3. Kidd reported the space for storage had doubled in price for equipment not requiring the highest levels of security. They have procured alternative space.
  4. Kidd reported there will be an appreciation lunch for poll workers on December 17. He encouraged board members to attend.
  5. Kidd reported the state will be sending lists of voters who have moved. There are about 5,900 voters involved. Elections staff will send notices by the end of the month to confirm the voting status of those on the lists.

Old business

  1. Kidd reported the office participated in the December 3 Christmas parade.
  2. Staff gave an update on the inventory system they are putting in place. A template has been developed and is being integrated into the office operations. Its main features: It will include a log of equipment use, maintenance, and distribution; be searchable by staff; and will be on a mobile app.

New business

  1. Kidd reported the Secretary of State’s office will be coming to the county to train staff on the new redistricting model. After that’s completed, all voters will get new precinct cards. The cards will be pink so voters will know they are the most recent ones.

M. Good asked if they know which precincts are affected. Kidd said they do, and this information will be announced at the December 14 county commissioners meeting. In response to a question from R. Proctor, Kidd said they have funds for the mailing.

        2. Kidd reported the proposed county commissioner district lines will be presented at the      December 14 meeting, for public comment.
