Brooks County Board Of Elections Estimates PPE Costs

The Brooks County Board of Elections estimated PPE costs of $1,700 during the April monthly meeting. The following includes brief notes taken by a Peanut Gallery volunteer as a public service only. Contact the Brooks County Board of Elections with questions or for official information.

Notes: 5:00 p.m. Charles Dave calls the meeting to order 

Topic: PPE budget 

Grant requested for PPE Guaranteed for delivery before the election $1,700 projected to spend on PPE

Topic: Absentee Ballot drop off boxes

Absentee ballot not mandatory but recommended from State- ordered to establish two or more. Can only be on municipal property access. Starting 49 days before Election Day 7:00 p.m. -end on Election Day.

Family and caregivers are given access to drop off ballots for impaired voters. Must have lighting and video recording devices at the drop off box. Has to be waterproof. Collection team consists of  two members. Must sign form including date time location and number of ballots. Must form a collection team- Karen Murray suggests that drop box should not be used.

Topic Voting projections and numbers :Total ballot application count:1,579- 1,000 return ballots sent back- Average 3,000 votes each-

Motion to have meeting May 19th passed 4-0
