Walker County Board of Elections and Registration Meeting Highlights from 5-14-20
8710 absentee ballots have been mailed and 3481 received. Up from the usual 1000 absentee ballots.

To protect poll workers and voters from COVID-19, Walker county will be using face masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, alcohol wipes and will be wiping everything down hourly.

The meeting ran from 8:30AM to 9:00AM.
Early Voting/Absentee Ballots
J.B: Early voting will begin in our office on 5-18-20 until 6-5-20 with Saturday voting on 5-30-20. This will be our only early voting location due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
D.M: We have processed and the state has mailed out 8710, and we have received back 3481 ballots so far. The most I can remember getting back in previous years is around 1000.
P.P.E
D.M: We will be using face masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, alcohol wipes and will be wiping everything down hourly. We have purchased 12 P.P.E. kits for each polling location and 22 sneeze guards. We have also purchased social distancing disks to put on the floor, and 3 foot screens will be installed to protect voters from each other while standing at the voting poll.
