PUBLIC COMMENTS
Bill Henderson said that 90% of 75 voter challenges he and his associates had submitted regarding allegedly dead people had resulted in removals from Dekalb voter rolls. (Henderson did not mention whether they removals occurred within the time period when removals are prohibited by federal law: none of the Runo: races was a federal position, but there were federal races on the May 21 General/Primary ballot)
Mary Farmer (?) said she was delivering an Absentee ballot on behalf of a client but was told by a postal worker that the first-class stamp was insuUicient. She feels the wording on the Absentee materials is confusing because it says, “first-class postage required.” Chair Swift asked to speak to her about this after the meeting.
5. ITEMS FOR DECISION
A. Jester moved to certify 6/18/24 election results, as detailed on pp. 18 of the packet. Some questions were asked about rejected ballots.
Abhiraman noted that fewer people voted in the high-profile CEO race than the State Court race, and BRE members discuss that voters requesting Non-partisan ballots were not able to vote in for the CEO RunoU because the race is between Democrats.
