Public comments- Citizens want to extend early voting hours; extend hours during the week to 7 and add a Sunday voting day

Old business- Ballots have been printed; 1368 applications have been accepted; some rejections because of early submissions, some not registered, some registered in a different county; Gynn BOER has received watermarked paper

Poll worker training will have daily update once ballots are mailed out; In 2020 they received 14000 absentee ballot applications because everyone was automatically mailed an application because of the pandemic; poll worker training will be after the State Election Board meetin on 9/20/24

New business- Assistant director gave a proposal for early voting “open polls for 1 extra hour the last week of early voting” because absentee deadline is over and analytics show greater numbers from 5-6pm; wants to add 1 hour at all 3 early voting locations; BOER member (Ward) would like a Sunday voting day and extended hours; BOER member (Sue) thinks that Sunday should not be a voting day because of religious reasons; BOER member (Keith) wants to have Sunday voting; BOER member (Tommy) thinks there is more than enough time to vote as is; Sunday voting will cost a little more than $2000; BOER member (Penny) said she will never vote for Sunday voting based off of the numbers

Motion for extended early voting hours and Sunday voting died with no 2nd

Motion for 1 extra hour on last week of early voting passes 4-1
