Coffee Board of Elections 9/10/24

Supervisor Updates- Received 2 invoices from Dominion for cleaning sheets to clean the scanner and watermarked paper ballots; Many absentee applications coming into the office; meeting changes posted on the door, Douglas Now, bulletin board at the courthouse, and coffeecounty-ga.gov under public notice; Citizen pointed out that Google has the BOER address wrong and temp closed, but he phone number is correct; Absentee applications should be sent to 321 S Pearl Avenue and that needed to be cleared up because there is a new building; BOER may be in new building by the end of the year but definitely not before the election; BOER has to post notice of early voting by October 1; Citizen suggested to use County Commissioners chambers since they will be meeting in the new building; 

Voter intimidation-The State is doing extra training and keeping up with information about voter interference 

-9:53am question was asked about election deniers- Supervisor said she is thankful for the board that they have in Coffee County; Matt McCullogh said he wants the election to be decided by 9:30-10:00 on election night

Police will be available 

Citizen (democratice party) said she’s nervous about the election and being at the BOER that night

-No finalized plans for security at various precincts

-Absentee ballots aren’t opened and counted until after 7pm on election night

156 absentee ballot application have been received; ballots will be mailed out Oct. 7
