  • Brown Bridge expressed concern about runaway campaign signage
  • No major changes to City of Cumming event center.
  • Big Creek Elementary established as an emergency polling place in June primary

  • Possible budget amendment needed for city of cumming event center. Rental is 25.5k.
  • Meeting with finance committee not yet scheduled, will be this month.
  • Poll Workers got a pay raise of 10 dollars, all rates
  • Budget is 1.9 million
  • Projecting 182,000 registered voters
  • 177,000 last month
  • Averaging 5-6% growth each year 
  • Anita Tucker voices possible 5-10% cut of poll worker pay funds

New Business Notes:

a.

  • Joel Natt moves that all challenges received within 10 days of a meeting shall be heard at that meeting. He says that his party will suffer if it’s not within that 10 days and therefore a special meeting should be held. 
  • Joel Natt moves that all 229s established in May shall have the date set in the June meeting
  • This would not comply with the 10 day requirement
  • Joel Natt moves to codify the practice of asking both the challenger and the challenged to agree to move the date past the 10 day requirement
  • Unanimous yes vote
  • Joel Natt moves that they empower the director and the registrar to dismiss 229 challenges when voters are verified to have moved out of the county or died
