As of today we have received about 2000 absentee ballots so far. We have received a grant for $34,000 for the Board of Elections Office. On the last day of early voting we had about 400 new voters get registered. We have mailed out close to 6,000 ballots and we still have over 2000 applications to process. Every day we get hundreds of absentee ballot applications.
We are in our third week of poll worker training. We have more than 120 poll workers so far for the 11-3 election. Early voting begins 10-13. Saturday voting 10-17 will be in Woodbine. Saturday voting 10-24 will be in Kingsland. Sunday voting 10-25 will be in Kingland from 1-6 pm.
Public comment:
Rachael Baldwin: I am concerned about a potential conflict of interest with the Sheriff heading up security at the poll while at the same time being on the ballot.
