Douglas Co certification meeting 11/15/22

Members present: Myesha Good (chair), Maurice Hurry (vice-chair), Robert Proctor, Kevin Evans
Director: Milton Kidd

Before the meeting started, M. Kidd reported they will not have Saturday voting for the runoff as
planned because it would be within a day of a state holiday.

The meeting was chaired by M. Hurry because M. Good came in about five minutes late.

Kidd reported 53,000 voters cast ballots, just under 55 percent of eligible voters. A staff person gave a
brief summary of the information in the Election Summary Report. R. Proctor had a question about the
Chief Magistrate’s race in which one of the candidates was disqualified but his name was on the ballot.
He asked if those votes are reflected in the report. Kidd explained that the votes for the qualified
candidate are reported but not the votes for unqualified candidate; however, the votes cast for the
unqualified candidate are included in the total.

In response to a question from M. Good, Kidd said the turnout was a little under the 2018 turnout.
Good moved to certify the results. Evans seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

The board members signed the certification documents.
