Gwinnett County Board of Elections Meeting 04/21/21

Meeting started 6:00pm at Gwinnett J&A Center Auditorium. All members present except Marquez who resigned. 3 members suggested replacing NAME with candidate that was considered with NAME. Chair wants to wait after weekend Republican party meeting to see if they have any suggestions for a replacement.

Agenda approved, 3/17 and 3/19 meeting minutes approved.

Review location signage to ensure location changes have new location notice at old location 7 days prior to election and during election cycle

Election supervisor to review adding equipment to existing location vs. splitting precincts based on number of voters in a precinct 2000/precinct. Board would prefer to add equipment to reduce location changes. There are 283685 voters in GC

Special 2-day Area/Poll Manager feedback meeting on last election cycle. Held 4/27 5:00pm & 4/28 9:00am, at Bogan Park Community Center, 2723 N Bogan Rd NE, Buford GA, 30519. Open to public

Election Supervisor & Lawyer to review difference between current code and SB202

2022 budget

Add 2 precincts with equipment (cost ~$51K). Review July/August & decide locations in December.

Add MiFi’s and laptops to precincts for poll managers to communicate directly with election office to verify absentee ballot voters.

4/30 items to add to budget, 

5/12 working session with EB, 

5/24 review proposals, 

6/16 final budget to EB
