Democratic state Rep. Mike Glanton resigns

Democratic state Rep. Mike Glanton of Jonesboro has resigned from the Georgia House. This leaves five open seats amid the ongoing legislative session. Glanton was reelected in November with 89% of the vote.

Gov. Brian Kemp on Monday called for a special election to fill Glanton’s seat in House District 75 that will be held on March 21.

The other four vacant seats will be filled in special elections or runoffs on Jan. 31. Glanton served 14 years in office.

Did you know that the public can attend Board of Registration and Elections meetings?

These meetings are open to the public by Georgia law.
