Lowndes County Board of Election Meeting 09/08/20

Meeting Highlights:

1. The county is discussing using a grant to open additional drop boxes
2. The county is currently short by about 80 poll workers

  • Dennis: How well is poll worker recruitment going?
    • Answer: We need about 80 more
  • Will the county need additional teams to open ballots?
    • Answer:No
  • Is the State or local office mailing out ballots?
    • Both. The state will mail them out until the last two weeks then we’ll take over
• The County is discussing using a grant for the following:
  • Hazard pay for poll workers
  • Additional pay for Advance voting
  • Additional drop boxes(would be 10 in total)
• None of this is finalized. This was listed for further discussion.
