Greene County Board of Elections Meeting 06/09/21

Board Members Present: 

Ted Baker, Chairman

Bob Lofgreen, Republican Representative

Helen Smith, Democratic Representative

Staff Present:

Kathleen Coine-Mayers, Elections Registrar

Meeting Notes:

  • Call to order at 5PM
  • Vote to adopt meeting agenda-PASSED
  • Staff Report
    • Board was informed that Chris Harvey, State Election Director, has resigned and a National search for replacement is underway
    • Board was informed that changes to the State Board of Elections are underway and that to date only the Democrats have appointed their representative
    • NGE notices are expected to be sent by the State by end of month-anticipated that there may be 50-100 sent in Greene County
    • New Greene County Election offices under construction with room for future expansion planned
    • Current voter count is 14,800 with 20,000 anticipated by 2024
    • Proposed Budget for FY2022 submitted with additional costs reflected due to additional labor and supplies required to manage Dominion system
    • Redistricting details expected in Fall
